We believe in the triune God as Father and Creator, in Jesus as Son and Savior, and in the Holy Spirit, as Comforter and Empowerer of the Church. We believe this is how God has revealed himself to us in scripture. We believe the Bible is God’s Word to us and contains all that one needs for salvation and obedience to Christ. We believe in the Apostle’s Creed and the Nicene Creed. We believe in the three “Standards of Unity” of the Reformed Church: The Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession and the Canons of the Synod of Dort. We believe that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary by a miracle of God the Holy Spirit and that he lived among us, died for our sins and rose in victory over sin and death. We believe he will come again to finalize what he began.
Christ died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, a substitute who took the wrath of God for our sins on himself, willingly and in obedience to the Father. We believe that after Christ returns God will recreate the heavens and the earth to make this world fit for a new existence. We believe in heaven as the abode of believers or disciples of Jesus Christ, and we believe Hell is the destination of those who reject Christ; it will be a place of eternal torment and separation from God.
